Hurricane Iota, a Category 5 Hurricane recently devastated small communities in Nicaragua.
Our club has partnered with a local Rotary Club in Ciudad Sandino for this time sensitive fundraiser.
This fundraiser is now closed.  We appreciate everyone's generosity.

The fundraiser raised $4,500 which was enough to provide 100 families with 700 lbs of beans for EACH family.  We really appreciate your generosity in helping with this appeal.

UPDATE:
This fundraiser is now complete.  Through your generosity we successfully raised the targeted $4,500 to provide 100 families with seed.
The funds have been delivered and we hope for a successful crop yield for the 100 families.

"Our Club is also beginning to raise money for families to replant the bean crops that they have lost, which has been a tremendous blow to the food security of the region. If we hurry they can plant in the next 2 weeks, still in time for farmers to get a crop of beans this year, a crucial source of protein. We have the goal of raising $4,500 to support 100 families to plant 1.6 acres each. The cost per family is $45, yielding 700-1200 lbs of beans within 90 days, enough for the families to eat as a staple food for the year. Each family will contribute 100lb from their harvest back to the community in order to create a revolving seed bank for future planting cycles, aiding in food security going forward. This is a sustainable project helping people to produce food for their families to eat for just $45 investment per family.
