The Wyckoff Midland Park Rotary Club held a meet and greet event at the Brick House to welcome potential members to the club.  The evening included a demonstration of CPR from the Wyckoff Ambulance Corp

A very successful evening was held at the Brick House with a number of potential members joining us for an evening of good food, friendship coupled with some education.  The club invited the Wyckoff Ambulance Corp to give an introduction to the new CPR.  It was a very enlightening evening with Hayley Rooney doing an excellent job of demonstrating the proper way to perform CPR.  With realistic use of her props she provided some great insights on when and when not to do CPR.  She used a great example of someone asleep on a park bench who did not take kindly to having compressions done on his chest and responded with appropriate upset.  Always check to see if they are breathing on their own first.  However, if the person is not responding then it is imperative that we 'do something' since the person is already not going to survive.  The insights she shared were obviously derived from many years of service in the Ambulance Corp.

Our club is committed to having all of our members properly trained and certified in CPR.   We will be doing a 3 hour course at the Wyckoff Ambulance Corp.  If you would like to join us and pick up this and other skills, join us at our weekly meetings on Thursday mornings.

Hayley Rooney provides detailed instruction on how to use the equipment available in almost every Church and school.
