Mayor Rudy Boonstra provided a comprehensive summary of town activities and answered questions from our members

Our club was very happy to welcome Mayor Rudy Boonstra to our meeting this week.  He provided updates on key initiatives in the town and provided answers to several questions from our members.  Rotary has a strong focus on both the local community as well as an international perspective, so it was interesting to get an update on our local community at this meeting.

Some items covered were the road covering projects for last year and next year.  The achievement of the Silver Rating from Sustainable New Jersey for the town was significant.   Only four towns in all of New Jersey achieved this level, and Wyckoff was the only Bergen County town to get this designation.  Some of our club members were instrumental in helping with this effort.

The Ridgewood water rate hike and the revaluation were also discussed.  The county and not the township dictate the revaluation, as was the latest activities surrounding the Shoprite application.

All the members appreciated the visit and the opportunity to provide feedback to the Mayor.  It was a pleasure having him with us.
